one year older, one year colder
My 21st birthday is in ten days. Does this even mean anything to me anymore?
Today classes sucked, as usual. I'm disappointed that both my Performing Arts and Eastern Religions classes had such potential but seem so disconcertinly boring. At least Performing arts will force me to attend two performances for class participation. The sensei in East Asian Religions a) doesn't know what's going on b) is a terrible lecturer and c) has no personality. Seems like a typical salaryman. And when I say he doesn't know what's going on, I mean REALLY.
I took two Japanese tests in the hopes that it will allow me to jump one level to J5. Strangely enough, the J5 placement level test was simpler than our J4 in-class test. Does not bode well. I guess I'll see tomorrow. I want to switch now more than ever. My Monday and Tuesday language teacher is a bit of a beeyotch (seriously) and one of the guys (also an Oregon student) in my class really bothers me.
At lunch I started handwriting everyone some letters and postcards but just as I thought I didn't have time to finish them. So, gomen nasai, it may be a while. I barely have time to sit down unless I'm in class. But I did manage to make myself a lunch this morning and it was, thankfully, edible. Yay for sandwiches. Their bread here sucks bigtime... it's total wonderbread. I managed to find some fluffy rye-like-bread toinght that at least tastes like the real thing.
I went for Okonomiyaki with Chris, Chris and Maki-chan somewhere south of Shinjuku for dinner. Though I was practically flatlining from hunger when we got there and we couldn't find the place for about 20 minutes, it was well worth the wait. The food was AMAZING.... real, super okonomiyaki! Mmm. Got in a good deal of Japanese practice too. Feeling much improved except that I keep losing words. Beh.
Ah, ji-kan ga nai! (I have no time!) I must of study, take a bath and go to bed.
