the bride wore white
I'll write more about Kamakura tomorrow (probably) but tonight I'll suffice to say that it was worth it just to see the Daibutsu even though I was tired and bored most of the rest of the time. I'm beginning to realize just how much I DESPISE traveling in groups over three people big. Can't stand it.

I enjoyed a lovely shrine and many interesting shops despite my malaise. I actually think that I may have *injured* myself by going to the gym on Friday because I'm still too sore to walk properly and my quad muscles feel funny. O freaking well, eh?

Here's the interesting photo of the day. Tell me what you think:

The picture is of what I assume is a wedding procession. I took a couple of it since it was so visually striking. What's strange, however, is that in every one the bride is surrounded by a blue aura. I assume it's from light diffusion on her white dress but I'd like to think otherwise. See?

Maybe she's just very happy to be getting married. Or maybe she's a demon queen tentacle temptress in human form. Ack!

I bought some more "omiyage" (souvenirs) for my family back home today. I've decided to forgo sending birthday presents and paying an arm and a leg for airmail and instead send everyone their christmas presents together by sea mail within the next week or two so that they'll get there on time. So sorry Liz and Eleanor... you'll have to wait until December for yours! But I did get you something. I just don't have enough money to send it. :(

Anyway, like I said, more tomorrow. I'm too bloody tired tonight and not all of my picture files are uploading. Either iPhoto or Photoshop has corrupted them. I'm betting on iPhoto... so damn you apple! I think it deleted them off my camera, too. Oh well. Back to looking at the Daibutsu. I could have stayed there all day just basking int he glow of his fat, happy, enlightened face.
