God Bless America
Ok, I have 5 minutes to write before Independence Day is over. Can I do it? Perhaps.

Does anyone even remember what Independence day means? Besides an excuse to barbeque, set off explosives reminiscent of bombs (thanks to ancient china!) and take off from work? I dread the thought today of how many people are right now bashing Middle Eastern people as they set off their artillery shells. We sure couldn't help it.

Justin and I went to visit Brian and Raechel, the past and future editors of the OV. Hung out with them for a while, ate some weiners, chips, veggies, etc... Raechel and I did Blow Jobs (the drink, silly!) which I found insultingly hard to do given that her shot glasses had a wide rim and I had a hard time getting my lips around it while keeping my hands behind my back. The worst part was that once I did, and had the shot in my mouth, I couldn't swallow it due to the vacuum it created in my throat. How the fuck do people DO this? Luckily Justin saved my dignity. At least I don't have any problems with the real thing.

(ignore me, please)

We all came back here and walked from Chase to near Autzen where we watched the fireworks display at Alton Baker Park and set off some of our own. It was badass! Timmay! I remember being so impressed by fireworks displays when I was little. Now I couldn't really care less. I'm so un-patriotic! I guess part of it is that the last five years my attempts to see big shows have all ended in partial failures. I've either been on the road WHEN the show started or had really terrible seats when I finally got there. Ah well, this was my first TRULY independent Independence Day so that was a cause for pyrotechnics, beer, and sex. HUZZAH!!

In any case, I DO have to work tomorrow and I am quickly running out of time, so I will sign out. More from work in the morning. I shall be highly annoyed if the sstupid explosions outside our windows continue too late into the night.

Tomorrow Eve Justin and I go see Tan Dun (Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon composer) at the Hult center for the Oregon Bach fest. Neeeeat-o. And I get to wear my new black strapless dress and strappy shoes. YAY! ^^
